My HURTIN vehicles

yea, this page is just nothing special.  just a few vehicles I have for getting to work, and other stuff.

My Fiero is probably the best looking car I have...the rest...well...

This was a good car, ugly but good!  Got it from the wreckers.  When I got it, I new the motor was seized, but I suspected it was fresh, and due to a bad head gasket.  I was right.  I actually had an extra head gasket laying around from one of my other beater cars and had this thing running in one night.

It got awesome mileage and pretty good power.  When I got another car, I sold it back to the wreckers because it needed CV joints, and I didn't want to put anything else into it.  I have seen it still on the road every now and then.

Holy Crap - 47 Miles/Gallon

here is the new unit, its a Nissan Pulsar.  I actually got two of these units, one of the two has a very powerful motor, but the rod is through the block.  I was going to fix it up, but decided to go with the smaller 1.6 motor as they are better on gas, and all I want this car for is to get to work cheaply.  oh yes, and I liked the T-Tops.  I put a good stereo into this unit and it has a sub-box.  sounds OK.

if this unit turns out mechanically stable, I might paint it and fix it up, its a nice little car to drive, and I tell ya, it sure is cheap to drive.

still like the truck though.

having another pulsar, the same color outside and inside, well I have allot of spare parts.  its great, a few times working on it I needed something, so I just go to the other car and have all the parts I need.

well this car turned out very strange.  I am getting approx 47 miles to the gallon.  Pretty good considering that this piece of sh.. is only spec's for 35 miles to the gallon.  I am not even nice about how I drive this car.  I usually hammer on it and go no less that 110 KM/H and usually 120 KM/H.  I think this car would do 50 miles to the gallon on straight highway driving.

Here is the deal.  The motor in this car is old, very old, even burns a little oil.  I am surprised it is running as good as it is.  So here is what has been done to this car.

  1. I have added a homemade turbine inside the carburetor - too cheap to buy a real one

  2. advanced base timing 2 degrees

  3. spark plugs are NGK v-grove gapped at 0.060 - this also retards my timing for acetone and increases the torque.  More torque also will get you more mileage.

  4. tire pressure is at 40 PSI

  5. 3 oz of acetone to every tank (which is almost 10 gallons) - I have seen excellent results from acetone!

It runs so much better now, it is smooth.  On 38 liters I only used to get 350 Kim's per tank when I first got this car, now I get 650 +.  Here is a shot, notice the fuel is remaining @ 639KM.

So this is my main vehicle that I drive the most.  Due to these incredibly stupid gas prices we now have, who can afford to spend so much money on transportation anymore?  Kind of kills the wanting to purchase any new vehicle for me, including the newer vehicles that are said to get alright mileage.  I just don't know what to think of those, when I can take a piece of crap and get the same mileage as the new ones!  So why spend the money?  For now I will use this car to get to work and back for as long as it will run.  If it keeps it up, I might even paint it and restore it over time so it is a bit better looking.  We shall see...oh, its so ugly now!

Here is my SPECIAL mix for my fuel.  Acetone, Xlene, and a lubricant.  Works great.

My Truck

Cool, a top view of my truck.

I have modified the computer in this truck.  When I first got this truck, it had poor mileage and ran rough.  The computer program in it now seems to be perfect.  It has reasonable mileage and tons of power.

I rebuilt the motor in this truck also.  It is only a 305cid but it has plenty of power now.  When I rebuilt it, I used flat top pistons, RV cam that is degreed 4 degrees advanced, headers, high flow muffler, a Jacobs multi-spark ignition, and an Accell coil.  I gap the plugs to .45 also due to the higher voltage ignition.

This has been a good truck, it made it through building my house and also through towing my travel trailer.  It would pull the trailer (26 foot) fairly well, I could do about 120km/h.  Up the hills was not too bad as I would drop to about 100km/h.  It also pulls my 6500 pound skid-steer fairly well also.
